Greetings. My name is Helen I am secretary of Stepping Stones, a club for the unattached over 40's.
If this is your first browse on this site then you are most welcome. A committee of 4 people run the club totally on a volunteering basis. We do it because we love it & we believe in it. I myself have been secretary now for 5 years, one of our committee members has been on the committee from day 1 which, trust me is a fair few years!!
Stepping Stones is a long established club which has been going for many years in the Milton Keynes area. We attract many people from the surrounding areas. Stepping Stones is NOT a dating club; it is a social club for those that want to have a life even though they are single. Many of our members have made long standing friendships & have been attending the club for years which goes to show we must be doing something right.
I don't really know what the secret is of why we have stood the test of time, maybe it's that we are non profit making so therefore it doesn't cost a bomb to join & every event is very reasonably priced. Maybe it’s because we don't even pressure you to join, you can just come along whenever you want, join in whatever you want. Maybe it's because all our members are friendly fun people or maybe it's because we have such a full & varied programme of events but whatever the reason is.....Stepping Stones works.
Pop along on any of our club nights, ask for me & we'll go from there. I will be more than happy to chat to you, hopefully put you at ease, introduce you to some people so you are not left on your own or leave you to your own devices, Just remember that everyone at the club walked through that door for the first time feeling all the emotions that one can feel, even me, so we all know how daunting the first time can be. .
