SPEED MIXING not SPEED DATING!

You know the feeling, you walk into somewhere new, don't know a soul and feel like an outcast whilst everybody around you is having a whale of a time!

We decided to do something about it and once a month we sit everyone who wants to take part down four to a table. Then every 5 minutes or so we move half of them to the next table. It works a treat. Everyone has a short stress free opportunity to meet other people and be part of the group.

A maximum of about 48 people can be catered for divided into ladies and men groups. If you want to stay with a friend, that will normally be possible. One group is allocated tables and the other moves around at the 5 minute intervals.

We start when about 8 people have arrived (expected to be 8.10) and finish  around 9.00 when the cycle is complete. Then we have a disco until 11.00 with a couple of slow music sessions so that if you want to talk to someone 'one to one' you can on the dance floor.

These events are BY FAR the best way to meet lots of new people in as painless a way as possible.

From the V10 Brickhill Street/H3 A422 Monks Way roundabout go north on V10 past Giffard Park, at the 3rd roundabout turn left onto the Wolverton Road. After 500 yards, opposite the entrance to the Black Horse pub, turn right into Great Linford Lakes. There is a  road sign directing you to the Hanson Environmental Centre.
